I worked as a tourist guide
for Ghandruk Tour and Travel Pokhara. I got this from my Uncle Friend who had
been working in tourist line from 12 years. I don’t want to be a professional
tourist guide but to visit some places, to earn money and to spend the vacation
after completion of higher secondary education.
My main task was to make the
trip of the foreign visitors as enjoyable as possible. They have many questions
on their mind about Nepalese culture, arts, architecture and Himalayas. I had
to answer all of them and satisfy them.
On many clear days in the
season I have get up early in the morning and go to sarangkot with the tourists
to show them the sunrise. They are very much enchanted by the beauty of the
first rays of the sun on the Machhapuchhre, Annapurna and Some other snowy peaks.
The most of the morning and evening I spend showing them different places like Begnas
Taal, Shanti stupa, Seti George, Patale chhango(Davis Fall), Gupteshwar Gufa, Chamere
Gufa, Barahi Temple and many other places. Most of the like to boating on Fewa Lake
in Morning and evening. Sometimes I had been gone to Kathmandu, Lumbini, Chitwan,
Jomsom, Annapurna Base Camp etc.
A good working knowledge
Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi and English has helped me to talk with
different kind of tourist. My study of the Nepalese religion, art, and
architecture satisfies the curiosity of the visitors. I had to deal with
various problem and difficult situations that arose during tour-Mistakes in
hotel booking, loss passport, illness, etc. I find that kind of work
interesting and enjoyable. I have had a good relationship with the clients who
have been in my care.
